If You Just Ask

If You Just Ask

God wants us to live a long happy life. If you are not satisfied where you are in life, then do something about it. Don’t settle where you are currently at. Take initiative. Get up and chase what you want. If you seek God and pray to him he will answer you. That dream job is only one prayer away. That dream house is only one fast away. That future wife is only one church retreat away. The point is everything is possible if we just ask God.

God wants you to keep on dreaming. God knows your heart’s desires. If you ask God and believe in him it will be given to you. After all, if God takes care of his creation, how much more will he take care of us who have been created in his image (Matthew 6:25-27). “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).” God already states in this bible verse that he wants us to prosper. Don’t be afraid to ask.

I heard a testimony once about a pastor who asked God for a bike. This pastor prayed to God for over five years. After such a long time of asking, the pastor grew tired. He began to doubt and question God. He asked God why is it taking so long for him to give him a bike. God replied and told him that he was not being specific.  He did not mention what color he wanted the bike. He did not say what kind of bike he wanted. He didn’t even mention what brand he wanted. Sometimes we don’t get what we want because we are not specific.

Pray to God and talk to him about all your request. Be very specific. When you pray make sure to believe with all your heart. Be patient and wait on the lord. Meditate on the promise that God made. He wants us to prosper.

Jeramiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
