God Will Come Through

God Will Come Through

There are times when God remains silent. I get worried when he keeps silent for long periods of time. I usually find myself wondering when was the last time God spoke to me. There is no pattern. God can go silent for an entire year. He can speak to me every few months. There have been occasions where he would speak to me almost every day.

I like to make myself believe that God is silent because he is about to surprise me. In all honesty, I don’t know why God remains silent. It’s hard not knowing what God is up to. It’s very comforting to know that God is never too far gone.  He seems to keep silent when he is working on his plans. It’s always a relief when God finally comes through.

I try to get answers when God is silent. I pray to him for a word or sign. I’m very persistent. There have been occasions where God doesn’t answer my prayer right away. He does this to teach me patience. When he doesn’t answer me, I just wait for him. I try to be still and stay calm. It helps me build up faith. I have come to trust in God. I know God is about to make a move when he has been silent for some time.

A couple of weeks ago, I was sitting at church wondering when was the last time God spoke to me. I realized that he has been silent for about three months. I remember feeling a little sad because of this realization. I was sitting next to two of my closest friends. I decided to ask them the same question. They both admitted that God has been silent with them too. When they told me this all I could think of was when is God going to come through. while I was thinking about this question, the pastor had finished his message and invited the congregation to the front. We all went to the front. I just stood there not expecting anything more than a simple prayer. I had no idea that God was listening to our conversation. God spoke to me. He spoke to my two close friends. We received a word from God. I felt this relief. God finally came through. He updated me on specific areas of my life that I have been praying about. When the service was finished, we gathered together to talk about what just happened. God literally answered us.

God did not forget about you. He hears your prayer every day. You can’t expect God to just give you what you want. He always does things with your best interest in mind. If he is delaying to answer you, it is for a specific reason only he knows. He might use this silence as a form to build your faith in him. Perhaps, he is teaching you patience like he has been doing with me. God will reveal his reasons with you. When the time comes, you will get your answer. God will come through. He is working on answering your prayer. Continue to wait for him everyday.

Lord, I know that you are on your way. I am confident that you will come through when the time is right. I am still learning to be patient. With every silent day, I place my trust in you. I only ask that you give me the strength to persevere. Thank you for everything you do for me. I appreciate how much you care about me. I know that you are close. Amen.

Psalm 83:1

“O God, do not remain quiet; Do not be silent and, O God, do not be still.”
